We operate with a premise that each human being carries within an infinite store of human possibilities – latent, waiting to be awakened.
And the greatest opportunity that human civilization has is the opportunity to awaken these human possibilities – at scale.
All the tools that help human beings recognize their own potential and consciously develop that potential are becoming available at an incredibly low cost to larger and larger proportion of human race.
To explain, education can now be available at a fraction of the cost. Information is almost freely available. The latest knowledge and access to the finest minds of the human race is available to any individual with access to the internet.
Furthermore, the cost of delivery of this knowledge has fallen down as mobile devices become ubiquitous and telecom networks become more and more powerful.
With the advent of ChatGPT and other AI tools, we now have unlimited access to digital abilities for collecting, collating, organizing, and presenting knowledge.
This offers an extraordinary opportunity to the human race. Can this almost freely available knowledge be used to awaken and empower human beings the world over? Can this knowledge be used to help human beings set sail on a journey of self-improvement? Can this knowledge be used by mankind to take better decisions both at an individual level and at a collective level?
This link while apparently obvious, is not so obvious on closer examination. We can understand why more information could help us make more informed decisions. But it is not clear whether more information will lead us to better or wiser decisions or decisions where we will put collective welfare above our personal interests.
Similarly, we can understand that access to information from the world over can help schools design better content and connect students better with the real-world outside. But it is difficult to comprehend whether more information will lead to better quality of thinking on the part of the students.
Put another way, the Knowledge Revolution has already brought about tectonic changes in the way human beings live and interact the world over. But we may have an even bigger, perhaps gigantic opportunity on our hand – the opportunity to bring about a Human Revolution using the fruits of the Knowledge Revolution.
Can almost universal access to knowledge result in worldwide awakening and unleashing of human potential that could herald a new future for the human race?
“Knowledge for Enablement” is a new framework of thinking – a frame or a filter that can be applied to almost any domain – leading to fresh vision, fresh insight, and fresh possibilities for all the stakeholders involved.
